Olympic games!

J'anime en ce moment une série d'ateliers avec 6 classes de l'école française Jacques Prévert, à Londres. Avec les CE1 et CE2, nous avons travaillé sur le thème du mouvement à travers les jeux olympiques. Après une séance de croquis où certains ont posé pour la classe, chacun a réalisé un personnage en action, en utilisant 2 des 5 couleurs des anneaux olympiques, découpées dans des papiers et des magazines!
De vrais petits chef d’œuvres!
I'm currently leading some workshops at the French school Jacques Prévert in London, with 6 classes. Here are some little masterpieces made by some 7 and 8 years old children who worked on the theme of movement through the Olympic Games!

Mr Jack tribute!

Le 22 février prochain, la galerie Arludik de Paris inaugurera une exposition collective en hommage au film L'étrange Noël de Mr Jack. J'ai eu le grand plaisir d'être invitée à y participer, et voici le triptyque que ce chef d’œuvre de l'animation m'a inspiré, j'espère que ça vous plaira!
Here is a triptych I did for the upcoming collective hommage show "The Nightmare before Christmas " at Arludik gallery in Paris, that will start from February the 22nd. I hope you'll enjoy it!

My last children's book Machin Truc Chouette will bring out this week, to Rue du Monde publishers. I hope Hubert Ben Kemoun's strong and committed story will find a large public and that it will wake some minds up... To order it, click here!

Sketchtravel, last (big) steps!

The final Art auction is coming on October 17th in Brussels and you can find all the details about it on the brand new SketchTravel website.
Sylvain, I and lot of great artists will be in Brussels to sign the printed versions of the Sketchtravel to the Cook and Book bookshop.

One of the important things SketchTravel has done, thank to Gérald and Dice, was to create a diverse and amazing community of artists from around the world, but even more importantly the project’s goal is to build one library ($20k) and sponsor one local children’s book publishing ($15k) in developing countries.
Indeed, all the benefits will go to Room to Read, an international non-profit dedicated to increase child literacy in such parts of the world.
It would be great if you could support in anyway you can this wonderful project. There are different ways to give a hand:
1) Donate to Room to Read.
2) Visit and “like” SketchTravel’s Facebook page.
3) Re-share this information to spread the word.

Des histoires venues d'ailleurs...

C'est sur le petit bureau d'une ferme cantalienne que j'ai fini la dernière image de mon prochain livre "Machin, Truc, Chouette". Cette très belle histoire écrite par Hubert Ben Kemoun paraîtra le mois prochain, aux éditions Rue du Monde!
I've just finished the last picture of my next book, on a small desk in a farm in a middle of Auvergne! "Machin, Truc, Chouette" is a really beautiful and strong story, written by Hubert Ben Kemoun, it will be published next month by Rue du Monde publishers.

L'été diluvien m'aide à travailler intensément sur un nouvel album qui paraîtra aux éditions Rue du Monde en octobre... Une très belle histoire écrite par Hubert BEN KEMOUN, forte et poétique, sur un thème plutôt costaud : l'immigration et la xénophobie. Des mots simples et un message fort, un très beau cadeau en somme!
This rainy summer allows me to work hard on my new commission, a book which will be published to Rue du Monde publisher in October. A very beautiful story around a quite heavy subject : immigration and xenophobia. Very simple words and very strong message, it's a wonderful present!

Sketchtravel!!!

Ça y est, après plusieurs années d'attente, la vente du fameux Sketchtravel et sa publication en format livre (aux éditions du Chêne) sont prévues pour la fin de l'année!
Vous pouvez le pré-commander dès maintenant sur amazon en cliquant ici. Une version collector sera aussi éditée, reproduisant le coffret en bois réalisé par Daniel Lopez Munoz de Pixar. Elle est également disponible en prévente ici. La vente aux enchères du carnet original aura lieue chez Pierre Bergé & Associés le 17 Octobre, la première estimation s'élève à 30 000 euros. L'argent sera reversé à l'association Room to read.
Pour l'occasion, voici ma contribution réalisée il y a deux ans presque jour pour jour! Mille mercis encore à Gérald et Dice pour ce magnifique cadeau, et pour tout ce qu'ils ont fait pour mener le projet à bien.

Sylvain et moi avions à l'époque réfléchi à l'idée de lier nos deux contributions, pour faire écho à l'aspect collaboratif du carnet et puis car cela nous plaisait que nos deux univers se rejoignent graphiquement pour ce si beau projet! Nous avons donc découpé un morceau du sacro-saint carnet pour laisser un trou permettant d'apercevoir la contribution de l'autre de chaque côté de la page. Voici l'idée en images!
The particularity of it was that Sylvain and I were able to contribute at the same time and at the same place, so we decided to somehow do something that would reflect this, that could be done only if we were working together, but still keep our own styles and spreads. We also wanted to evoke the collaborative idea of the sketchbook. So we cutted out a piece of our common page, to leave a hole that would link our two pieces. So you can see a bit of each other's piece in each one, and the sketchbook travels through it. It doesn't seem really clear, so here are some pictures:

Ulysse est arrivé!
