Si éloignés, si proches...

Une petite pause dans la réalisation de mon album, c'est pour la bonne cause! J'ai été invitée à participer au projet Brownstones to Red dirt organisé par des artistes du studio Blue Sky. Deux d'entre eux ont réalisé un reportage autour du programme d'échange épistolaire qui lie un groupe d'enfants défavorisés de Brooklyn et des orphelins de guerre du Sierra Leone. Ce projet est une extension au film, chaque artiste invité a reçu une petite carte postale en bois souple et devait faire une image en rapport avec cette initiative de "correspondance". Tous les bénéfices de la vente de ces cartes serviront à la construction d'une école côté Afrique et d'une bibliothèque côté Etats-unis. Une très belle cause donc!
A little break in my book execution, it's for a great cause! I've been invited to take part in the Brownstones to Red dirt project, organised by artists from Blue Sky studios. Two of them have created a feature-length documentary about a pen pal program between a group of at-risk sixth graders living in Brooklyn and orphans from the war living Sierra Leone. This Postcard Art project is an extension of the their film, each invited artist received a small wooden postcard to create a picture about this exchange. All the fund-raising will help to build a school on the Africa side and a library on the U.S one. A very beautiful cause!
